Football... but with a hefty dose of creativity

Next week, from August 17 to 22, Amersfoort will transform into the international setting for Super Ball World Open 2026. For the first time, the world's largest open freestyle football tournament is being held in the Netherlands, with more than 300 top athletes from over 45 countries who will compete against each other in no less than seven different disciplines.

Where a football match is about tactics, positions, and goals, freestyle football feels almost like a combination of sport, dance, and acrobatics. Tricks that you didn't even know were possible, spectacular battles, and choreographies where you seriously wonder how often gravity decides to take a break.

And maybe that's exactly why it's so fun to watch. You don't have to be a football expert to be impressed by someone who has complete control of the ball while performing moves that you normally only expect in a video game.

More than just tricks

Super Ball is not just any competition. During the event, there are different categories, such as 1-on-1 battles, music routines, duo performances, and challenges where speed, technique, and creativity come together. Additionally, the event shows that freestyle football is much more than a sport: it's also about connection, creativity, and accessibility.
