When you drove along the A1 in 2010, there was one brand-new building that caught curious glances: Van der Valk Amersfoort-A1. Back then, it started with an ambitious plan — now grown into a landmark for everyone who often drives on the A1 and a fixed place where guests, businesses, and local residents meet each other. Fifteen years later, it feels like we have always been there.

Where you always go to Toucan

What started as a hotel with a dream quickly evolved into a location where business meetings, culinary outings, and overnight stays come together. And that didn't happen without some beautiful milestones. In 2018, the hotel underwent a major transformation: from lobby to rooms, from restaurant to appearance — everything became fresher, more spacious, and ready for the future. Our guests not only gained more comfort, but above all, more experience.

Over the years, a lot has changed, always with one goal: to offer our guests an even greater experience. The extensive renovation in 2018 gave the hotel a fresh, modern look. In 2020, two major milestones followed: the opening of our Business Center and Skybar SIXX, now a favorite for both business meetings and relaxing drinks with a view. And in April, our latest pride was added: our renovated à la carte restaurant. ROOTZ, where an international menu, daily fresh dishes, and a luxurious setting ensure a culinary journey of discovery.

We celebrated our 15th anniversary with suppliers, neighbors, business partners, and family - a moment full of pride and gratitude for everyone who has contributed to the hotel we are today. Fifteen years of Van der Valk Amersfoort-A1 means fifteen years of building special encounters, hospitality, and growth.
